CHRONICLE NOTES ABET ACCREDITATION’S ROLE IN IMPROVED TEACHING WITHIN ENGINEERING COLLEGES
In “The Tough Road to Better Science Teaching,” an article from this week’s Chronicle of Higher Education, Jeffrey Brainard reports on the challenges faced by those seeking to improve teaching methods in undergraduate science. Brainard references the results of Penn State’s Engineering Change study (http://www.abet.org/papers.shtml) as evidence of improved learning outcomes among engineering students educated after the shift. The article can be accessed through the Chronicle’s website at http://chronicle.com/weekly/v53/i48/48a01601.htm.
